Fairy Houses - The Ballet, Story Synopsis
Scene One: Kristen & Erik at Home - Kristen and her brother Erik are sitting at home engrossed in electronic games. The two children begin to argue back and forth over the game. Their mother arrives to stop the fighting and presents them with a book about exploring nature and the magical world that waits for them outdoors: Fairy Houses. Kristen is completely fascinated; Erik is not so sure. When they are finished reading the new book, the children go off to bed for the night.
Scene Two: Fairies Lure Kristen -While sleeping, Kristen dreams of fairies like the ones she has seen in the book. Several fairies visit her and bring acorns, leaves, pinecones, seashells and other materials to build a fairy house.
Scene Three: Let’s Build! -Kristen awakes excited and convinced that she must go outside to build a fairy house right away. She drags a reluctant Erik with her.
Scene Four: A New Fairy House - Kristen and Erik play outdoors and gather more items to build a fairy house. A group of colorful and friendly birds help them. When the fairy house is complete Kristen and Erik decide to rest nearby and keep a watchful eye out for any fairies. They gradually dose off.
Scene Five: The Forest Transformed - The Twilight Fairy & the Fairies of the Evening Sky arrive and magically transform the new fairy house into a larger-than-life structure. Kristen & Erik are awed as, one by one, several fairies visit to bring special gifts to adorn and bless the new fairy house. A grand celebration follows as Kristen and Erik dance together with all the fairies. A sudden storm erupts and everyone scrambles for cover. A beautiful Butterfly Fairy arrives to take shelter and decides to live in the beautiful new house Kristen & Erik built. The children have never had so much fun!
Scene Six: The Magic of Nature - The storm subsides; the Butterfly Fairy enters her new home as the Twilight Fairy casts a spell on the scene in the forest that lulls Kristen & Erik to sleep. After the fairies have gone, the children awake to discover that the house has returned to it original size. They run over to peer inside the fairy house and watch in wonder as a small butterfly emerges from inside.
