The New England seacoast tradition of building fairy houses began over 50 years ago, most notably on Monhegan and Squirrel Islands off the coast of Maine. A frequent visitor to these islands, Tracy Kane was inspired to create “The Fairy Houses Series”, consisting of picture books “Fairy Houses”, “Fairy Boat” and “Fairy Flight” plus video “Kristen’s Fairy House.” The Series has won numerous awards including “Parents’ Choice Gold Award”, “Top 10 Children’s Book Sense pick” - American Booksellers Association and “Top 10 Notable” - American Libraries Association.
Tracy’s work inspires families to share the wonders of nature and fantasies of fairies through the fun activity of building fairy houses.
