The Cushing House Museum
Newburyport, MA
A Magical parent/child event

Fairies, wizards, elves, water nymphs, and forest spirits are invited to the Children’s Fairy Houses Workshop. This charming fairy/parent event is hosted by the Historical Society of Old Newbury.

Inspired by the renaissance in and fascination with mystical characters and woodland fairies, the Cushing House is launching this new program for children and their parents. The program is designed to excite the children’s imagination and introduce the natural wonders of their own backyard.

Parent’s Choice award winning author Tracy Kane will launch the event with a reading of her book “Fairy Houses,” and provide photographs of fairy shelters built throughout the Northeast. Found construction materials of twigs, stone, feathers and shells will be supplied. Ms. Kane will lend her expertise to the fairy/parent teams in providing suggestions and support. Fairies and other forest spirits are encouraged to come in costume and bring along their favorite fairy friends. Bring along some of your own natural materials.
