DSC_0541aThe Portsmouth Fairy House Tour is the world’s largest fairy house tour. The Tour will feature over 200 handcrafted fairy houses made by local artists, florists, garden clubs club members, businesses, families and local school children.

Inspired by local author Tracy Kane’s award-winning Fairy Houses Series®, and produced by Friends of the South End, the annual Fairy House Tour attracts 6,500-8,000 families and fairies each year.

The Tour will take place on the grounds of Strawbery Banke, the Governor John Langdon House, and Prescott Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The Fairy Houses Series® of books – which popularized fairy house building worldwide – served as the original inspiration for the Portsmouth Fairy House Tour. Tracy Kane will be on hand both days to greet fairy fans and sign books.

In addition, visitors can expect to see performances by the Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater and the New Hampshire Theatre Project.

The centerpiece of the Tour is the Artists Invitational competition. Ten select fairy houses build by creative professionals will be judged by a panel of three judges, including Tracy Kane.

I have been going every year with my two girls. We have not missed a year yet. My oldest is now 15 years old n still is very excited for this every year. It is a way to reach the inner child no matter how old. We look forward to another year.
